A CONVICT'S TALE: Chapter 7 (The Escape)
-bush: a low plant with many branches that arise from near the ground.
-whistle: to make a high, clear sound by forcing the breath through stretched lips or through the teeth.
-lifeless: inanimate, having no life; not endowed with life.
-wheat: the grain of any cereal grass of the genus.
-searchlight: a device, usually consisting of a light and reflector, for throwing a beam of light in any direction.
-proof: evidence or facts that are sufficient to establish a thing as true of believable.
-cabbages: a plant, of the mustard family, having a short stem and leaves that form into a rounded head.
-sunrise: the rise of the sun above the horizon in the morning.
-exhaustion: the state of being exhausted.
-forehead: the part of the face above the eyebrows.
